Derbymates is a persistent online football manager that runs in your browser on phone, tablet and computer, in English and German.
How it works: you take over one of four free clubs in the bottom tier (a traditional club, a talent factory, a wealthy newcomer or a balanced side) and make colours, crest and kit your own. One calendar day is one game week. At 06:00 the new week starts, at 17:00 the transfer auctions close, and at 20:00 local league time (German or UK time) every match of the league kicks off live. A match lasts 7 + 7 minutes with a 2-minute break; at half-time you can make up to three substitutions and change mentality and style. The match report names the reasons: fitness, morale, form and tactics have measurable effects.
What you run: squad and contracts, training and your own youth academy, tactics, open transfer auctions, finances with a season forecast, stadium and ticket prices, staff, sponsors, fans and the board.
Leagues: 18 clubs, 34 matchdays, 6 divisions with promotion and relegation, a league cup, the Derby Cup and three European cups. Start a friends league and play your mates every evening; computer-controlled clubs fill the free places.
No need to be online every day: the autopilot picks your eleven and the board settles open decisions after 48 hours.
